March and April have been busy. My blacksmith forge is now up and running and I am getting on with all the commissions coming in for blacksmithing.
I have loaded up a new section on the website under the gallery images to show off some products that people may be interested in, but so far the commissions have been bespoke requests. I also have some returning customers which is great news as my reputation grows. Nailsworth market was worth a visit last Saturday and we just got packed up before the heavens opened and the rain came down, great timing! I'm also looking forward to Nailsworth festival on Saturday 17th May which is Festival Saturday. There will be loads of entertainment in the town and I'm hoping for a busy day!
It's been surprising how much interest there is in a blacksmith and the amount of different things I am being asked for. Everything from well covers, fire/pit pokers, firesets, chairs, latches, hinges, railings, hay hooks and the list goes on....I can only presume that I'm making access to handforged iron work easy for people who don't know where to get hold of a blacksmith or didn't think they needed that piece of iron in the first place and just needed a little nudge from me!
But that's o.k, I'm more than happy to take on all this work! Lets hope it continues and I have am busier than ever!! April to June sees me in various places attending different shows and fairs and making sure my stock is kept at a decent level for my market stalls as well as finishing my bespoke commissions. Fire braziers and BBQ items will hopefully be popular as we've been promised a BBQ summer, I'll believe that when I see it! Have a good one and we'll speak next month, Lizzie.
